Yardbird was a surprising blend of luxe and relaxed. From the exterior to the interior, the aesthetic is captivating and IG worthy for those who like to capture content. The foods menu is a fun mixture of classic American and Black American cuisine with a twist. I had the shrimp and grits which was arguably the best I’ve had in my adult life. A perfect blend of savory salt and sweet and plated perfectly. The experience could have been heightened if our waiter was more attentive as he forgot to refill my drinks after asking him 2-3 times and he failed to tell us that refills are not free. He also neglected us when we requested our to go containers and check, it might have been passable if it was a busy day but it was Monday afternoon and it was not that busy. Additionally the outdoor patio although beautiful smells really bad, not sure if it’s because of trash nearby or something else. The music outdoors is a little loud compared to inside. I do wish the playlist was more relaxing vs clubish, certainly not a necessary music choice for this kind of venue. Spent roughly $75 total for 2 mocktails, 1 order of deviled eggs, 1 shrimp and grits. I would pass on the deviled eggs in the future as it was very salty and taking away from the overall taste.

I had an amazing experience at Yardbird in Dallas! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, thoughtfully decorated, and very clean—a welcoming and elevated vibe from the moment we walked in. Our server, Austin, was phenomenal. He knew the menu inside and out and gave confident, thoughtful recommendations that really paid off. His attentiveness and professionalism truly made the experience stand out, especially compared to other restaurants visited on this trip. We came as a group of five—each of us ordered different cocktails and entrées, and everyone enjoyed their meal. It’s rare that a group this size has a unanimous win across the board, but Yardbird delivered. Exceptional food, drinks, and service. Definitely a spot I’d return to and recommend without hesitation.

Again we had a fabulous meal with a fabulous server named Justin. The fried chicken is to die for!!! My hubby had Nashville hot and it was crazy good. The fried green tomatoes & biscuits for an appetizer were so delicious. We have been here 4 times. I’m mad at myself for not trying the fried green tomatoes before. So good! The service from hostess, to bar to food service was excellent. The food is consistently good every time. Love what you do!

Love Yardbird at the Vegas location, so we wanted to try this in Dallas. The deviled eggs were tasty, but I felt the eggs were slightly overcooked and rubbery. I preferred the cornbread during this visit. The skillet cornbread was sweet but balanced with the cheese, bacon, and jalapeño. The chicken was perfect! I do feel the waffles were a bit sweeter than I’m used to; could have used more jalapeño and cheddar to balance the sweetness. The honey hot sauce served with The Whole Bird added more heat, though. The spiced watermelon was tasty, as always.

Today is Saturday, December 20, 2025, and I visited Yardbird with my best friend to celebrate my birthday. Our server was J—I can’t quite remember his full name—but he was incredibly kind, attentive, and informative. I arrived a little early and sat at the bar, where I ordered an amazing sangria. Since I hadn’t eaten yet, I decided to grab a small appetizer before my friend arrived and went with the honey butter toast. It was absolutely to die for. The bartenders were also wonderful—friendly and welcoming. I usually feel a bit shy walking into a restaurant alone, but this experience was genuinely pleasant. When my friend arrived, we were seated at our table a little earlier than expected. She ordered the chicken sliders with Brussels sprouts and fries. The Brussels sprouts were fantastic—perfectly charred with a hint of balsamic and some delicious seasoning I couldn’t quite identify, but they tasted great. I ordered the All-American breakfast with bacon, a hard-fried egg, and a lemon-zest pancake that was absolutely incredible. At the end of brunch, our server surprised me with donut holes, “Happy Birthday” written on the plate, and a candle. It was such a sweet gesture, and I really appreciated how special he made me feel. I definitely plan on returning to try lunch and dinner—I noticed collard greens and fried okra on the menu that I’d love to try. I also ordered two dishes to go for my kids: chicken and waffles, and chicken strips with fries. Altogether, my total was about $95. If you’re dining alone, you can probably enjoy a really nice meal for around $60–70. I went during brunch, so the vibe was casual, but in the evening it definitely feels like the kind of place you’d want to dress up a bit—nice jeans, heels, cute shoes, and a stylish jacket. I also noticed a private room off to the side that can be closed off, which is perfect if you want to host a private gathering. Overall, I loved it and will absolutely be back!
